Designed by educator-led development teams who view the computer as an enabling technology that encourages children to become active learners, this CD-ROM disk is intended for students in kindergarten through grade 6. The disk enables students to create interactive stories fueled by the power of their imaginations and create adventures set in an actual Latin American rain forest. By allowing students to express themselves creatively, the disk helps students develop writing and communication skills as they select scenes, choose and animate characters, plan plots, write stories, narrate pages, and add music, conversations, and sound effects to craft engaging and inventive stories. Included with the disk is a 27-page user's guide which will familiarize the user with all the features included in the program and explain how to set up "Destination: Rain Forest" in both Macintosh and Windows versions. Packaged within each CD case is a separate mini-guide with specific information for that destination. (NKA)
