This document consists of five years (1988-1992, 10 issues) of the Singapore-based journal "Guidelines." Issues contain articles on a variety of topics in second language teaching. Topics include classroom language teaching strategies, techniques for teaching specific language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) or knowledge (grammatical forms or structures), commentaries on specific theories or approaches in specific contexts or at particular educational levels, classroom activities, instructional material selection and preparation, use of specific technologies in the classroom, principles in lesson planning, classroom organization and management, academic language instruction, encouragement of and communication with students, small-group and large-group instruction strategies, and language teacher education.
