Multimedia Technology from A to Z.
Dillon, Patrick M.; Leonard, David C.
This book defines over 1,000 terms related to multimedia. Generally speaking, the terms were selected around sets of professional functions that relate to multimedia either because they belong to one of the disciplines that contribute to multimedia or because they belong to a set of competencies that originated with the birth of multimedia. An effort is made to include terms that would be of greatest use to developers working to incorporate video in their multimedia content, with special attention to those who are producing CD-ROM titles. One of the most substantial conflicts that is starting to appear in the development of multimedia is the clash of vocabularies and nomenclatures. This glossary is a step toward unifying the understanding of new concepts in the field. An annotated bibliography lists 40 resources. (SLD)
