Developed for the staff of field projects, this booklet provides guidelines for evaluating projects to promote activities that will enhance the well-being of young children, their families, and their communities. The booklet aims to stimulate ideas and discussions, offers general principles to help in evaluation, and raises issues that encourage project personnel to seek local resources. Aspects of the evaluation process discussed include: (1) factors to consider when starting an evaluation; (2) evaluation records; (3) time and cost of evaluation; (4) evaluation instruments; (5) data analysis; and (6) factors to consider when writing the results of an evaluation.
