Keltner, Autumn; And Others
A basic text for adult students who need to learn oral English patterns and vocabulary required in day-to-day situations is presented. Instructional units are situation-oriented and non-sequential, and integrate appropriate grammatical and syntactic structures. The principal purposes of each lesson is to develop immediately usable oral skills. An introductory section gives an overview of the materials and offers guidelines for classroom activities and approaches. Subsequently, 10 units are presented. Each consists of: a list of competency objectives; situational or functional dialogues; vocabulary and structure practices; interactive pair practice exercises and/or interview questions; visual aids; and reading exercises.
