"The Maine Woods" by Henry David Thoreau: A Curriculum Guide.
Developed for the use of all high school students and teachers, this curriculum guide based on Henry David Thoreau's "The Maine Woods" may lend itself best to the English class, but Thoreau had many academic areas unknowingly covered when he wrote his journals written while in Maine. For example, the guide could also be used in science classes to study wildlife, botany, and geography. The curriculum guide includes: a list of objectives; a list of required activities; study guide questions for each of the three units; discussion questions for each of the three units; a list of projects; a vocabulary list; pre- and posttests; answer keys; a map test and answer key; and personal insights and reflections of the curriculum developer.
