Tech Prep for Central Illinois. Final Report.

The goal of an articulated secondary/postsecondary tech prep project was to develop a model curriculum to prepare students to enter a postsecondary program leading to an associate of applied science degree. Continuing study at a four-year university would also be an option. Six schools participated as tech prep sites. Each site formed a team consisting of a guidance counselor and one of each of the following instructors: English, math, science, industrial, and business. Each team attended inservice training to help modify curriculum and teaching approaches that address the tech prep concept and developed a plan for the integration of curriculum. Course sequences were developed for 23 program areas. Three new articulation agreements were established, making a total of six. A mentoring committee was established to develop a plan for the mentoring program.
