This document presents the first statewide master plan for Nevada literacy, called Nevada Literacy 2000, as developed by the Literacy Coalition Advisory Council. It begins with the mission statement of the council. These 11 goals with concomitant objectives are then presented: needs assessment, Nevada Literacy Coalition, adult basic education, student capacity, expanded program access, training for literacy providers, public information, coordination and cooperation, workplace literacy, family literacy, and institutional literacy. The action plan follows. For each objective, a chart lists two to five actions. For each action, the chart designates Office of Primary Responsibility (lead agency), Office of Collateral Responsibility (secondary agency), and date by which the action should be taken.
