This module presents a real-world context in which mathematics skills are used as part of a daily routine. The context is the field of veterinary technology, and the module aims to help students understand the significance of being able to convert from one system of measurement to a different system, and of making accurate calculations when working with fractions and decimals. Materials in the module, most of which are designed for the teacher to duplicate and distribute to students, include the following: (1) information on careers in the field of veterinary technology; (2) a task to be performed with information needed for the task; (3) related problems; and (4) answer key for related problems.
