This module presents a real-world context in which mathematics skills are used as part of a daily routine. The context is the industrial and engineering technology area, and the module aims to help students see the significance of mathematics skills in performing daily tasks. Materials in the module, most of which are designed for the teacher to duplicate and distribute to students, include the following: (1) information on careers in engineering technology; (2) a task to be performed and information sheets necessary to complete the task; (3) questions to be completed by the students; (4) answer keys to the questions; and (5) a handout and teacher's answer key.
