A Manual for Single Switch and Adaptive Software Programming. Computer Applications for Students with Physical, Sensory, Developmental, and Learning Disabilities.
This manual is intended as a guide and source of ideas for using single switches in adaptive software programming for people with disabilities who cannot use a traditional keyboard. The manual and associated program disk are comprised of over 100 programs, routines and files illustrating various uses of single switch and adaptive input devices. Programs were developed for use on the Apple family of computers and written in Applesoft BASIC. Complete program listings of programs on the disk are included in the manual. After an introduction, individual chapters address the following topics: (1) single switch fundamentals; (2) single switch input; (3) low-resolution graphics; (4) sound and speech; (5) single switch scan techniques; (6) high-resolution graphics; (7) single switch math; and (8) single switch reading.
