Communication Skills in Development: The Role of ELT. Dunford House Seminar Report (England, United Kingdom, July 26-August 1, 1992).

Proceedings of a seminar on the role of communication skills instruction as part of English language training (ELT) offered through British technical assistance and economic development programs are presented. They take the form of speeches, case study summaries, and reports of group discussions about each case study. Speeches include: "Aspects of Accountability"; "The Value of English in Development"; "Economics and ELT"; and "Investing in Education." Case studies and related discussions are for Namibia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Hungary, Poland, China, and India.
