This journal presents different views from members of the International Network of Principal's Centers on the importance of and different ways to create a vision for schools. The six parts of the journal outline reasons for creating a vision as part of every school's and community's work. Part 1 includes essays on why a vision for education must be created, how students will benefit from a vision, and how a vision can be supported by the educational community. In part 2, the role of the individual in vision making is discussed. Part 3 defines visions for education and how they are created through interactions between members of the educational community. Part 4 examines how personal and educational experiences serve as the sources for some visions. How to develop an educational vision and foster the involvement of educational community is discussed in part 5. Part 6 probes some of the paradoxes of modern thinking and approaches to creating a vision for education. (JPT)
