Basic Grammar in Use: Reference and Practice for Students of English.
This basic grammar book for beginning to low-intermediate level students of English contains 106 units. The units are divided into the following categories: Present; Past; Present Perfect; Passive; Future and Modals; Imperative; "There" and "It"; Verb Forms; Auxiliary Verbs; Negatives; Questions; "To" and "-ing"; Reported Speech; "Get" and "Go"; Pronouns and Possessives; Articles; Determiners and Pronouns; Adjectives and Adverbs; Word Order; Prepositions; Phrasal Verbs; and Conjunctions and Relative Clauses. Each unit consists of one page of explanation and one page of exercises. The book is designed so that students may select specific units which cover those areas of grammar with which they have difficulty rather than studying all of the units in sequence from beginning to end. Six appendixes offer additional information on irregular verbs, short forms, spelling, and phrasal verbs. (SAM)
