South Africa-Related Initiatives of Intergovernmental Organisations (IGOs): A Primer. South African Information Exchange Working Paper Number 22.
Micou, Ann McKinstry
This report explores the role of intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) in South African anti-apartheid initiatives. The document identifies those IGOs that are involved or plan to become involved in financial and/or technical assistance to programs related to post-apartheid South Africa. Following an introduction, the report identifies and describes United Nations (UN) groups and other multilateral agencies involved in the region. Among the many groups discussed are the UN Special Committee against Apartheid, the UN Volunteers, the Transnational Corporations and Management Division, the African Development Bank, and the Southern African Development Community. The activities and objectives of each group or unit are described, and names and addresses of persons to write to for further information are provided. (LBG)
