TACSCE Research Annual, v7 n1 Fall 1992
This annual contains the paper that won the President's Award given by the Texas Association for Community Service and Continuing Education (TACSCE) Research Committee. An editorial, "Reconsidering Liberal Education" (Stancie Chamberlain), proposes that adult educators focus on liberal studies that provide general knowledge and contribute to development of general intellectual capabilities. A perspective paper, "Questions Related to the Future Success of Non-Credit Education" (Judith Winn), is a discussion of nondegree professional education programs and personal enrichment activities that focuses on what should be offered and where it should it be offered. The President's Award winner, "Perceptions of Selected Community Services/Continuing Education Administrators of Public Two-Year Colleges Regarding Job Satisfaction Factors" (Athena Russell), reports these survey findings: job satisfaction increases with administrator's age, length of service, and prior community services administrative positions and as the noncredit enrollment of the college increases. The questionnaire is appended. The runner-up paper, "Towards a Christian Perspective of Adult Education" (David Naugle), thinks through the applications and implications of the content of the Christian world view on work with adult students. Forty-eight sources are listed. Other contents include the 1991 Personnel Profile/Salary Survey of Texas continuing educational professionals in institutions of higher education and a list of TACSCE Research Committee members.
