The more than 100 papers in this collection describe examples of successful technology integration in teacher education. The applications are extremely diverse, including computer-assisted instruction, hypermedia, interactive video, computer simulations, telecommunications, and more. The applications also represent the range of instructional and learning theories. There are applications based on behavioral learning models, applications that express Piagetian developmental learning theory, computer applications based on learning styles research, and applications that articulate a cognitive science perspective. The reports also represent several levels of thought. There are many "how to" papers that provide detailed information on a variety of ways to use technology. Context papers address the big picture, such as the roles of technology in undergraduate education and the importance of general teaching strategies. Issue papers ask critical questions and propose some answers. Theory papers relate established and emerging general theories to the way technology is used.
