The Undergraduate's Guide to Studying Languages.
Hantrais, Linda
This study skills book is intended for British students in foreign language degree courses. It is intended as a manual and resource book for undergraduates. In addition to providing guidance on basic study methods and study skills, information is provided on audio-visual and computer resources that are now widely available in higher education institutions in England. Prominence is given to oral and aural skills and especially to communicative approaches to language learning. Chapters are devoted to task-based language exercises and to the experience of spending a prolonged period of residence abroad. Careers available to language graduates are also examined in some detail. (JL)
