Educational Evaluation for Program Improvement. Monograph in the Faculty of Education Research Seminar and Workshop Series.
Ryan, Anthony S., Ed.; Fraser, Barry J., Ed.
This document is the third in a series of collection of papers from workshops sponsored by the Faculty of Education at the Western Australian Institute of Technology. It contains three papers from a seminar on educational evaluation held early in 1984. The papers present ideas involving the need for the evaluation of instruction within school districts, how evaluation reports are used by teachers in the fields, and evaluation approaches to several situations. The first paper discusses some of the methods and results of a project that the University of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) used to evaluate the Pittsburgh Public Schools. The second discusses a study of how science teachers used the information from an evaluation study. The third presents approaches to the evaluation of innovative teaching practices. (CW)
