Iowa Vocational Student Follow-Up Micro-Computer Management System [Machine Readable Data File].
Iowa State Dept. of Education, Des Moines.
Iowa's Vocational Student Follow-Up System was designed for use by the high schools and community colleges in the state in collecting a common set of outcomes data on vocational students. The menu-driven data management system was designed for operation on an MS-DOS or PC-DOS IBM compatible microcomputer, using a programming language similar to dBASE III. Summary data are collected by the State Department of Public Instruction. For each program offered, the schools are requested to provide information on instructional level, program type, special emphases, objectives and purpose, the number of students completing the course, the total number of completers employed and those employed in related and unrelated occupations, in-state or out-of-state location of employment, average weekly wage for completers employed full-time in an occupation for which they were trained or a related field, total number of unemployed program completers and their current status (i.e., continuing their education, seeking employment, not in the labor market, other), and total number of completers for whom follow-up data are not available. From individual college data, the Department of Public Instruction compiles state figures by program. FREQUENCY: Annual. TYPE OF SURVEY: Follow-Up. POPULATION: Community College Districts (16). RESPONSE RATE: 100% of the Districts. YEAR OF LATEST DATA: 1987.
