Management by Results Model, Extended Evaluation Model, Combination Model. South Carolina Principal Incentive Program 1990-91.
South Carolina State Dept. of Education, Columbia. Div. of Public Accountability.
The Management by Results Model of South Carolina's Principal Incentive Program is one of three models developed to reward school principals who demonstrate superior performance and productivity. Awards are given on the basis of the achievement of objectives developed by the principal and approved by the Principal Incentive Committee as well as a "superior" or better rating on the Principal Evaluation Instrument. The Extended Evaluation Model requires that candidates demonstrate superior performance and productivity as compared to other principals in the district in addition to achieving a "superior" or better evaluative rating. The Combination Model also requires a "superior" or better evaluative rating but the principal must select either the "Exceeds Performance" or"Performance Objectives" evaluation procedure to help determine incentive awards. Outlines give details about program administration, the relationship of the Principal Incentive Program to the Principal Evaluation Model, student teacher involvement, candidate attendance, the appeal process, general fiscal information and procedures, program requirements, and procedures and requirements of each model. Appendices A-B, F-D, and E-F contain each model's suggested administration timeline and expenditure guidelines. (EJS)
