Bonus Model and Campus/Individual Model. South Carolina Teacher Incentive Program 1990-91.

The Bonus Model of South Carolina's Teacher Incentive Program rewards eligible teachers for their individual efforts. The Campus/Individual model contains two separate components. Through the Campus Plan, eligible teachers are collectively rewarded in schools that attain the School Incentive Reward Program Achievement Gain Standard or higher ranking percentile values than other schools in their district. The Individual Plan rewards eligible teachers for their individual efforts without respect to overall school performance. To be an award recipient, all candidates must demonstrate a superior record of performance in attendance, performance evaluation, self-improvement, and student achievement. Funds for the programs are allocated to each district on the basis of the number of pupils in each. A District Coordinator and a District Teacher Incentive Committee are established to facilitate effective and efficient program operations. Entry and award criteria, application procedures, award processes, recognition awards, and appeal processes for each model are outlined. Appendices A-D and E-H contain each model's suggested district management plan, expenditure guidelines, approved teacher self-improvement activities, and student achievement and productivity measures.
