Directory of Selected Early Childhood Programs, 1990-1991.

This directory of selected early childhood programs includes project grants in three categories administered by the Office of Special Education Programs and funded under the Early Education Program for Children with Disabilities. The program categories include the Division of Innovation and Development, the Division of Personnel Preparation, and the Division of Educational Services. The directory is organized into four sections: (1) the Introduction, which provides an overview of federal early childhood programs, their purposes and activities, and the implications of Public Law 99-457 and Public Law 101-476 for federal and state efforts in planning and implementing early childhood education and related services; (2) the Directory section which provides a state-by-state listing of the early childhood projects, personnel administering the Preschool Grants Program and the Program for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities, and chairpersons of the state Interagency Coordinating Councils; (3) the Project Abstracts section which provides half-page descriptions for each of the projects, outlining their purpose, target, approach, practices, and outcomes, and organized according to program category; and (4) two indexes to project abstracts, organized by program category and subcategory and by state. The Directory section is designed to provide a quick reference to all project addresses and telephone numbers within a state, and the Project Abstracts section provides a comprehensive view of project activity within a given program.
