Job Placement Statistics for 1990 Vocational Education Completers in Ohio.
Ohio State Dept. of Education, Columbus. Div. of Vocational and Career Education.
This booklet reports job placement statistics in three major sections: secondary, secondary special populations, (disabled, limited English speaking, and disadvantaged), and postsecondary vocational education completers. In the secondary section, tables and graphs report job placement rates by year, by program area, and for general and vocational curriculum completers; they also provide follow-ups on 1989 and 1985-1989 vocational education completers. In the secondary special populations section, job placement rates are reported by population group, by employment status/population of 1989 secondary vocational education completers, and as a follow-up of 1989 special populations vocational education completers. In the postsecondary section, tables record job placement rates by year, by program area for 1989 completers, employment rates for the general population and for postsecondary vocational education completers, the employment status of 1989 postsecondary vocational education completers, and a follow-up of Ohio postsecondary vocational education completers 1985-89. Some highlights of the report include the following: (1) students in special populations are being placed in jobs at a rate of about 70 percent, with 16 percent continuing their education; (2) about the same percentage of regular secondary vocational education completers are in jobs or continuing their education; and (3) about 90 percent of postsecondary vocational education completers obtained jobs related to their field of study.
