This annual report on the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) contains demographic and enrollment profiles of the nine colleges that compose the LACCD as well as a systemwide budget, and districtwide student characteristics. Following messages from the LACCD president and chancellor, the report contains profiles of the following district colleges: East Los Angeles College; Los Angeles City College; Los Angeles Harbor College; Los Angeles Mission College; Los Angeles Pierce College; Los Angeles Southwest College; Los Angeles Trade-Technical College; Los Angeles Valley College; and West Los Angeles College. Each school profile contains enrollment statistics, and reviews highlights such as new facilities, grants received, and special programs initiated. Following the school profiles, brief descriptions are provided of special program at each of the colleges. Districtwide statistics are presented next, indicating that: (1) enrollment increased from 104,817 in spring 1990 to 111,485 in fall 1990; (2) 48% of the students were under 25 years of age; (3) 37% were White, 27% were Hispanic, 17% were Black, and 15% were Asian; (4) 56% were female; (5) 34% were full-time, and 32% were carrying fewer than six units; (6) 43% attended during the day; and (7) 55% were transfer oriented. The LACCD's 1990-91 budget, presenting sources of revenue and the distribution of funding appropriations, and a list of presidents from each of the nine colleges, are included. (JMC)
