An Addendum to: Reading/Writing Immersion: A Decision Making Literacy Development Project. Fourth Teacher Survey and Summary, Year 1.

This addendum to the Reading/Writing Immersion Literacy Development Project presents the results of the fourth teacher survey (which had not been administered at the time of the publication of the project's final report for year 1). The fourth survey dealt with report writing. The 2-year literacy development project was designed to assist grade 1 teachers at four Manitoba (Canada) schools in becoming more effective in working with "at-risk" students to meet reading and writing performance expectancies. In order not to repeat information contained in the previous project document, data summaries and recommendations in the report deal only with items common to all four surveys. Results indicated that: (1) meetings were fairly well organized; (2) participants felt the project met their expectations and found the project to be useful; (3) materials and readings were rated as being of high quality; (4) participants believed they received good to very good support for themselves and the project; (5) school visits were as important as the other components of the project; and (6) the report writing phase was somewhat useful.
