Look to the Future.

This pamphlet, an Alaska career information system high school planner and career guide, was developed for use with middle and early high school youth. This planning tool (1) introduces the relationship between high school courses and postsecondary plans; (2) outlines for the student the Alaska state minimum high school graduation requirements; (3) explores the various paths available to the student after graduation; and (4) covers the opportunities available for extracurricular activities in high school. Included in this illustrated guide are the following sections: (1) look to the future; (2) chart your career goals; (3) chart your destination; (4) what you may need for the trip; (5) activities can make school more fun and allow you to practice your academic and social skills; and (6) what skills do you need? Included with the Alaska state minimum high school graduation requirements is a blank requirements chart to be completed by the student. An additional handout shows "Hot Careers" and graphically depicts steps for gathering skills for a career. (NLA)
