Statistical and financial data about public schools in Alabama for the academic year ending June 30, 1989 and for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1989 are presented in a series of tables divided into four sections. Section I contains tables summarizing information on the enrollment, attendance, and personnel of local boards of education and state information and also includes data on: the source and disposition of funds handled by the Alabama State Department of Education; distribution of departmental expenditures; vocational education funds; crippled children's services; and vocational rehabilitation. Section II provides the following information on students: enrollment by grade for all students, for white students, and for non-white students; miscellaneous information (transportation, race, and sex); average daily attendance and average daily membership by grade group; percent average daily attendance by grade; number of high school graduates by race and sex; and number of dropouts by race and sex. Section III contains information on personnel, including: number of principals, number of teachers; and number of other certified personnel; average salaries of teachers and principals; number of all certified personnel and average salary by rank of certificate; number of regular program teachers and average salary by rank of certificate; and number of non-certified personnel. Section IV provides data on revenues and expenditures, including: percent of revenue by source; revenues per student; expenditures per student; revenues and other financing sources; expenditures and other fund uses; and local funds reported by principals.
