McCormick, Richardson P.
Rutgers University commemorated the twentieth anniversaries of the Black Student Protest Movement and the Educational Opportunity Fund in the academic year 1988-1989. This book presents a historical overview of the movement from the 1960s to the present. Seven chapters examine and discuss the activities of the movement, factors and forces which influenced its emergence, the various strategies employed by the movement to improve African-American access to higher education at Rutgers, and its subsequent achievements. Appended are five documents describing grievances and demands of the movement during the period 1968-1969. Chapter references are included. (LT)
