This report includes tables and figures on the following topics: (1) Comparison of Dropout Rates by Grade, 1987-88 and 1988-89; (2) Dropout Rates by Grade, 1987-88 and 1988-89; (3) Count of Student Dropouts by Ethnic/Racial Group, 1988-89; (4) Dropout Rates by Ethnic/Racial Group by Grade, 1987-88 and 1988-89; (5) Dropout Rates by Grade and Sex, 1987-88 and 1988-89; (6) Dropout Rates by Ethnic/Racial Group for Grades 10-12, 1987-88 and 1988-89; and (7) Annual Dropout Rate for Grades 7-12 by School District. Nine questions and answers about Colorado dropout rates are provided. A sample data collection instrument is included. It is noted the dropout rate for the 1987-88 school year was 4.1 percent and for the 1988-89 school year the dropout rate was 4.2 percent. The report concludes that there has been no significant change in the total number of students dropping out of grades 7-12 or the number of retrievals during the 1988-89 and 1987-88 school years.
