To meet Ohio state standards, Ohio State University offers an inservice education course for cooperating teachers. During sessions of the course, students and teachers learn together and practice their communication and conferencing skills. The course includes opportunities for teachers to try reflective teaching exercises. Topics assigned for the course include roles and responsibilities, supervisory styles, discussion on state standards, observation instruments that could be used to gather objective data, and writing mid-term and final evaluations. The teachers are also required to complete a project that would be useful to their school and/or to any field experience student assigned there. Projects range from video tapes to school handbooks.
