Human Growth and Development. Health Module.

The overall goal of this module is to provide elementary and secondary students with the knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate their behavior, take responsibility for their health, and understand the consequences of their actions in order to minimize and/or avoid health risks. The module is divided into four major groupings: primary, upper elementary, middle/junior high school, and high school. Instructional objectives are provided for each grade level, and each suggested activity is categorized in five areas: (1) gaining information; (2) comprehension and application; (3) extending knowledge; (4) skills application; and (5) bonding applications, which refer to activities involving the formation of relationships with peers, family, or community.
