Community colleges in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida providing services and accommodations for students with learning disabilities are discussed in this document. Over 40 community colleges are included. Requirements for college entry are described for each college. Services provided by the college are discussed. These include advisement; remedial skills classes; counseling; training programs; support groups; orientation programs; career development courses; computers for student use; access to typists; and study skills classes. Accommodations each college makes are also discussed. These include video-taped lectures of required courses; tutors; notetakers; untimed examinations; tape recorders in the classroom; extension of time to complete degree requirements; extension of time to complete course assignments; readers; oral examinations; reduced classload; course substitutions; and tape recordings of books used in class. A contact person for each college and its average yearly enrollment are listed. (ABL)
