The main body of the report describes the comparison study of compression rates and their effects on video quality using a common source tape of color graphics, teleconference scenes, and motion footage. The remaining sections of the report describe the equipment tested, equipment configurations, actual bench and field test results, current academic applications using compression technology, and equipment prices and features.
