Directory of Faculty Contracts and Bargaining Agents in Institutions of Higher Education; Volume 16.
Douglas, Joel M.; Or, Beth Genya
The directory begins with a summary of unionization activities among college faculty for the 1989 calendar year. It is concluded that there were no significant events in academic collective bargaining during the year, with faculty unions concentrating resources on servicing their members and preserving affiliations. The faculty contracts and bargaining agents are listed in chart form by state with information provided on institution, bargaining agent/s, unit size, date of current agent election, date of initial contract, type of institution, number of campuses, and contract expiration date. Also provided are similar data for adjunct faculty contracts, and graduate and teaching assistant contracts. Additional information is provided covering faculty collective bargaining at Canadian universities. A summary of elections in the United States during 1989 is detailed by institution. Eighteen tables provide detailed statistical analysis. (DB)
