The document presents partial recommendations of a Pennsylvania State University Study Group on the Status of Women at the University. Recommendations concern: family care policy, women's curriculum and programs, non-tenure track policy, staff exempt and staff nonexempt employees, the leadership share, and advocacy for women. Among specific recommendations are the following: (1) implement policies to provide students and employees with access to affordable, quality family care; (2) implement policies regarding curriculum and faculty appointments to enhance the visibility of the Women's Studies Program; (3) encourage faculty who wish to revise their courses to be more inclusive of accomplishments and perspectives of women and people of color; (4) increase staffing, allotment, and space for the Center for Women Students; (5) implement policies that will provide non-tenure track faculty with improved job security and advancement opportunities; (6) improve conditions of employment for exempt and nonexempt women employees; and (7) achieve a balanced representation of men and women in leadership positions by the year 2000. For each recommendation there is a discussion of the problem, the rationale for the recommendation, and references, with a total of 38 references.
