This package presents a standardized receptive vocabulary checklist to identify language deficits in preschool and kindergarten students, especially in students who are mentally retarded, have hearing impairments, language/learning disabilities, or autism. The checklist offers 95 vocabulary words and phrases that children normally acquire in a developmentally sequenced order between the third birthday and entry into first grade. Included are a manual; a stimulus book containing 28 picture sets; a stimulus picture card; a collection of blocks, beads, and chips for use as manipulatives; achievement profile sheets; and score sheets. Data from this checklist is intended to help teachers and clinicians in preparing individualized education programs. (Author/PB)
