Pioneer Schoolhouse Restoration/Rehabilitation Phase I Report and Appendices.

The first public school in Anchorage, Alaska opened in 1915. These documents contain the architect and engineers' report about the restoration of that building. This Report of Phase I contains a history of the building, a description of the research methodology used, and detailed architectural and engineering data: a condition survey, suggestions of the consulting team regarding the wants and needs of the users, estimated costs of the restoration program, and a prioritization of the program. The material is divided into architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical information and is technical in nature. Frequent reference is made to the appendices contained in the second booklet.
