This resource material is intended to assist teachers in translating the intentions of the Science 14/24 program into classroom practice. The Science 14/24 program was designed to develop scientific literacy and stress interactions among science, technology, and society. The program was designed for students enrolled in the General High School Diploma Program in Alberta. Sections included are: (1) "Background to the Science 14/24 Program"; (2) "Planning" (providing suggestions for using time and resources); (3) "Teaching Strategies"; (4) "Student Evaluation"; (5) "Sample Activities" (consisting of four units each of Science 14 and 24); (6) "Science 14/24 Optional Units"; (7) "Learning Resources" (listing resources and addresses of 12 resource/media centers); and (8)"Bibliography."
