Los Angeles Community College District Enrollment by College and Area of Residence--Fall 1987.
Isaksen, Leonard W.
Using information from the student data files of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), this report provides a districtwide profile of fall 1987 student enrollment patterns by zipcode of residence. The first section of the report contains maps which illustrate, for each of the nine colleges in the district, the numbers of students enrolled from each zipcode within a 10-mile radius of the college. Another series of maps, encompassing the entire LACCD and its neighboring districts, is also included. The remainder of the report consists of data tables, showing college enrollments by area of residence. The report indicates that a large number of students are participating in intradistrict flow. For example, of the 8,899 community college students living within the service area of Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC), only 3,166 were attending LAMC in fall 1987, while 3,523 were attending Los Angeles Valley College and 1,911 were attending Los Angeles Pierce College. During the same year, a little over 8,000 students living in neighboring community college districts attended the LACCD, while approximately 34,000 students residing in the LACCD were attending neighboring districts.
