Maxson, Christie; Gray, Norma, Ed.
This collection of 66 assessment instrument profiles was compiled to address the issue of multidisciplinary evaluation of infants and toddlers, aged birth through 2 years, and the identification of family needs. Six categories of instruments are included: (1) developmental screening, (2) developmental tests, (3) specific screening, (4) specific diagnostic, (5) parent questionnaires, and (6) program evaluations. Categories 1 through 4 deal with the direct assessment of the child, while categories 5 and 6 deal with the identification of family needs and family satisfaction with program services. Each profile contains the name of the instrument, author/s, age range assessed, type of instrument, publisher, purpose, developmental domains assessed, number of test items per domain, administration requirements, scoring methods, administration time required, standardization, and cost. An introductory section explains how to select an assessment approach and provides definitions of terms. (JDD)
