The content of this report, commissioned by the State Board of Education, examines the current input indicators contained within Nebraska Statutes. Recommendations for ways in which process performance indicators suggested by the Accreditation Advisory Committee may be appropriately evaluated and measured are provided. The common curriculum of Nebraska's school system is identified and recommendations are made for appropriate testing strategies. A review is made of the Comprehensive School Evaluation Process currently required in state and in North Central accreditation. The majority of the report is contained in seven appendices: (1) charge from the State Board of Education and makeup of Task Force; (2) catalogue of indicators; (3) textbook usage in elementary schools of educational service Unit #3; (4) partial summary of course offerings in Nebraska secondary schools; (5) testing options and costs, National Assessment of Education Program, achievement batteries, and subject area tests; and (6) North Central Accreditation Process.
