The responses of the State University of New York (SUNY) constituent institutions to the biannual survey of Non-Credit Instructional Activities for January 1, 1988 through June 30, 1988 are summarized. For each non-credit instructional activity reported, the following information was provided by the campuses: contact hours; continuing education value; course location; instruction type; instructor type; number of registrations; organizing unit; revenue source; subject area; and target clientele. Definitions of terms are provided. Three parts are as follows: (1) SUNY summary reports of the number of non-credit instructional activities and registrations, January 1, 1988 through June 30, 1988; (2) SUNY trend reports summarizing non-credit instructional activities and registrations, 1983 through June 30, 1988; and (3) SUNY detail report of each non-credit instructional activity, by subject area, title, and campus, January 1, 1988 through June 30, 1988. Some non-credit activities for adults considering career changes include choices and changes for women, plan your career, and resume clinic. Examples of non-credit activities for in-service education include graphic presentations, public speaking, and telemarketing. Programs to enhance personal growth include self-help for smokers, world religions, and wilderness camping in winter. An appendix offers a map of SUNY institutions and a chronology of dates of establishment of SUNY institutions. A list of publications by SUNY's Central Staff Office of Institutional Research is included. (SM)
