Haggerty, James J.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) seeks to promote broader and accelerated use of their bank of technical knowledge. This publication is intended to heighten public awareness of the technology available for use and its potential for economic and social benefit to the United States. Section 1 outlines NASA's mainline programs including space operations, aviation technology, space probing, and commerical use of space. Section 2 contains a representative selection of spinoff products and processes and describes the NASA technology from which these transfers were derived. Section 3 details the mechanisms NASA employs to foster technology utilization and stimulate interest among prospective users of the technology. It also contains a brief resume of NASA's efforts in related fields. An appendix to Section 3 lists contact sources for further information about the technology utilization and space commercialization programs. (YP)
