Shaw, which argues for maintaining the community college mission of attending to the individual student's needs; (7) "Future Direction for Student Services: A View from the Top," by Robert H. McCabe, which argues that community colleges should become more student-centered; and (8) "Trends and Issues in Student Development," by Jennifer Curry and Brian Young, which provides a literature review of current trends in the practice and development of student personnel services.
