Intended to review the recent professional developments in public relations as they are documented in the literature and to explore the implications of these developments for public relations education in Canada at the university level, this thesis is in six chapters, as follows: (1) Introduction; (2) Defining Public Relations; (3) Current Public Relations Education and Curricula; (4) Current Developments in the Public Relations Practice; (5) Current Implications for Public Relations Curriculum in Canada; and (6) Conclusions and General Observations. Two tables are included; 39 references and two appendixes (containing a comprehensive definition of public relations and the public relations program sequence at Canada's Mount Saint Vincent University) conclude the thesis.
