The list is divided into 17 sections: fairy tales; folklore; stories in rhyme; friendship; family life; music; poetry; humor; tales of mystery; frontier and pioneer life; sports, pets, and amusements; children's stories; winter readings; spring readings; summer readings; autumn readings; and special days of celebration.
