Micros and Elementary Math: Lesson Plans, a Directory of Software for Achieving Educational Objectives and Procedures for Evaluating Software.
Lounge, Joseph P.; And Others
This book is organized in three major sections. The first section provides 15 lesson plans for the integration of activities involving computer uses in mathematics instruction. Each lesson plan includes grade level, objective, time, materials, important terms, background, suggestions, and activities. The second section provides a list of available math software covering addition; decimals; division; estimation; factoring; fractions; geometry; graphing; integers; money; multiplication; problem solving; rounding; and subtraction. Each software entry delineates the concepts to be taught, the appropriate grade levels, software titles and publishers, suggested retail costs, the types of computer hardware, and location of software evaluations. The third section describes human cognition and the evaluation questions for three categories of learning outcomes: verbal knowledge; intellectual skills; and cognitive strategies. Indices for software titles and publishers are included. Sample software evaluation forms are appended. (YP)
