Impact of Technology.
Balistreri, Jerry P.
This manual was developed to familiarize teachers with the study of the impacts of technology and to supply resource materials so that teachers can develop a unit of instruction on the topic or include the subject in existing units of instruction. The first part of the manual contains eight learning activity packets (LAPs). Each LAP consists of prerequisites, objectives, competencies, information and discussion, and suggested activities. The LAPs cover the following topics: (1) how and why technology has had an impact on people's lives; (2) types of impacts; (3) environmental impacts; (4) technical impacts; (5) financial impacts; (6) social impacts; (7) technology assessment; and (8) terminology. The second part of the manual contains appendixes listing suggested texts, filmstrips, videos, films, and resource agencies with addresses. (KC)
