Burtnett, Olga J.
A guide for teachers of conversational Spanish is intended for the elementary school (grades 4-6) or beginning level. It is designed to introduce students to the sounds and pronunciation of Spanish, and uses the audio-lingual method. The guide contains introductory notes on the scope and sequence of skills and concepts, suggestions for classroom presentation, necessary and supplemental resources, and implementation procedures. Seven lessons follow on these topics: names, commands and school items, numbers, colors, days of the week, parts of the body, and family. Each lesson consists of a list of teaching procedures, content, and suggested games and activities. Notes on cultural content, suggestions for student projects, a student rating form, a reproducible coloring picture, and a certificate of achievement are appended. (MSE)
